Life As We Know It!

Hello, Everyone! Welcome to my first blog post :) I meant to start this a long time ago (early in the summer when we first found out I was pregnant), but apparently life moves a lot faster when you have such a life-changing deadline approaching! Soooo.... in an attempt to get everyone up to speed in less then two paragraphs, here's life as we know it right now:
Bubba and I are living in Lakewood, Colorado and it's definitely a HUGE adjustment from Portland! Denver is a sprawling city.... and while I used to complain about a 20 minute commute to work, I've now become accustomed to driving 45 minutes each way (which means I now complain to myself, and Nolan if he's in the car, twice as loud ;) Bubba is working as a Fitness Director at Mountainside Fitness in Westminister as well as a Sports Performance Trainer for House of Speed.  He likes his job, but as we're quickly learning, middle management in the corporate world is a tough position and I know he's looking forward to running his own sports performance facility sometime in the nearer future.  I'm also working in the corporate world as a Recruiting Coordinator at New York Life Insurance and in sales for The Container Store while pursing my MBA at University of Colorado in Marketing.  Between our crazy, busy schedules, we hardly see each other... but, as we already know, our lives are about to get even more crazy and we're really excited for the ride!

Now to the more exciting updates! As of today, I am exactly 33 weeks pregnant! (The above pictures are at 23 weeks so you can imagine how much my belly has changed- and grown- since then! The guys at work always ask me if I'm stealing a basketball and hiding it under my shirt ;) My mom and sister are coming out to visit for Thanksgiving next week and they're coming with me to my big 34 week ultrasound.  Hayley has never seen an ultrasound before and I'm so excited to have her out here to see it with me... although, I have a feeling it's going a (joyous) sob fest- I can't help but tear up every time I see his little body up on the ultrasound flat screen (technology is amazing these days!) From here on out, I'll have a doctor's appointment every week to check how everything is progressing, so I promise to keep everyone posted!

P.s. Next post I'll show some baby belly and nursery pics!

Love you all! xoxo

  2. I remember the once a week ultrasound, then the twice a week ones. (But I had gestational diabetes... yuck) It was so neat to see him then. I could see his heart fluttering, and the bones of his spine. Truly amazing.

I am glad everything is going well for you. I can not wait to meet your little munchkin!
